One smart cookie
Written by Rachel Berman
When it comes to packaged snack foods, it’s rare to find one that’s both delicious and full of all-natural ingredients. Most are heavily processed, with artificial flavors and stabilizers added to make them taste better and extend the shelf life. So I feel like I’ve struck gold with World of Grains cookies.
Nutrition is all about whole grains these days. They’re unrefined nutrients that are loaded with fiber, keeping you fuller longer. Fiber also has positive effects on weight, cholesterol, and blood sugar, and may help lower your odds of developing certain cancers. All of which kind of makes World of Grains cookies taste even better. I love the multigrain flavor, which lists “grain blend” — eight kinds of grain, including whole wheat, whole oat, quinoa, ground flaxseed, and barley — as their first ingredient. But if you think I only like these cookies because I’m a dietitian, then you don’t know me very well. There’s no way I’d support a cookie that didn’t taste rich and delicious! These are bursting with more flavor and crunch than most snacks on the market, maybe because they’re packaged in single serving sizes. A typical fresh baked cookie can be 100 to 200 calories, but you can have an entire bag of this substantial treat for only 130 calories plus 3 grams of both fiber and protein! Made in cranberry, blueberry, oatmeal raisin, apple cinnamon and multigrain flavors, they’re the perfect healthy snack to throw into your kid’s lunch bag or bring with you on a long drive. Check out all the World of Grain selections, including their crackers and clusters, at worldofgrains.com.***
Tanya’s Tip: Instead of ice cream for dessert, try a bag of World of Grains apple cinnamon cookies dipped in a cold glass of skim milk. It will cut loads of artery-clogging saturated fat from your next dessert!

Too bad! :-(
Any other suggestions for a healthy cookie substitute?
That is too bad! Thank you for bringing it to our attention! Recently we wrote about a healthy cookie which can be shipped nationwide: http://www.skinnyandthecity.co...i-gourmet/ but you've inspired me to look for more. Thanks and keep reading for more of our obsessions!
