Tanya Zuckerbrot
This Upper East Side gal is one of New York City’s most sought-out dietitians. Hardworking and driven, Tanya has made a name for herself in the field of nutrition. As a young girl, Tanya loved to cook, but her real passion for food developed in college. After gaining the “freshman fifteen,” Tanya bought a low-fat cookbook and began experimenting in the kitchen. She lost 15 pounds on her own by cooking delicious, healthy recipes. Driven by her love of cooking, and wanting to open a gourmet shoppe, Tanya was torn between getting a master’s degree in nutrition and the Culinary Institute of America. After careful deliberation, Tanya pursued her master’s degree at New York University and became a registered dietitian (RD).
Upon graduation Tanya created Tanya’s Tastees, a cookie company, which introduced the first and only fat-free rugelach to the market. The cookies were sold in over 200 stores. Despite the success of Tanya’s Tastees, Tanya was missing one of the things she loved most: counseling patients. Two years after introducing Tanya’s Tastees, Tanya decided to pursue private practice. Now, as owner and founder of Tanya Zuckerbrot Nutrition, LLC, Tanya spends most of her time at her midtown private practice, helping patients of all ages achieve their health and weight goals.
In 2007, Tanya released The F-Factor Diet: Discover the Secret to Permanent Weight Loss, a book based on the innovative nutrition program that has provided her clients with the tools needed for successful weight-loss and maintenance, improved health, and increased well-being for over ten years. Tanya is always spreading her wealth of knowledge with regular appearances on FOX News, Today Show, and EXTRA. She’s also appeared on the The Rachael Ray Show, The Mike and Juliet Show, MSNBC, ABC News, CBS Evening News, VH1,iVillage Live, Life and Style, The Food Network, and Good Day New York.
During the hectic workweek, Tanya relishes the opportunity to munch on the Madison Salad at Fred’s in Barney’s. And when she’s able to sneak out of the office early enough, ladies night is dinner downtown with her favorite girlfriends. Good conversation, music, and a crisp white wine make up Tanya’s ideal night.
Aside from her busy career, Tanya is a wife and mother of three (four, if you count her Yorkie, Teddy). She has three-year-old twin girls and a six-year-old son. On Saturdays after her morning workout, Tanya can be found having brunch with her family at their favorite diner. And when she’s able to get some alone time with her hubby, they go for sushi—sake and sashimi, of course!
When she needs to release stress, you may find her running along the East River or taking a Kundalini yoga class, or watching a foreign film. Her favorite color is blue and like all women, Tanya loves to shop! Her biggest weaknesses are shoes and bags. But, regardless of what she’s wearing—whether a dress from Dolce & Gabanna, a vintage piece, or a cute top from H&M—Tanya believes that as long as she feels good in it, she’ll take it!
Now that you know about Tanya, please feel free to ask her any question you like. She’s the nutrition expert and is here to provide you with information to help you look and feel your very best!
